MANDY & LESTER- a short film I wrote with director Lena Beug, commissioned by Liberty Mutual for their “responsibility project” and produced by RSA Films, is finally finished. It’s about a young hero’s quest to return a box of girl scout cookies. Sanchez and I did the music. Wu Tang is for the children and so am I.

GLORY AT SEA! A film directed by the gold-hearted Benh Zeitlin, made with the fearless Court 13 family and starring myself and a motley crew of Nola locals, has won the WOLPHIN AWARD for Best Short Film at this year’s South By Southwest film festival.  
Filmed down in New Orleans this past year, I play a guy named Jake who washes up from the bottom of the ocean after my girlfriend and many others are trapped on the ocean floor. Once on shore I begin building a raft and am joined by the local characters who are obsessed with finding their drowned loved ones. Together we go out to sea on a boat made of junk. It’s a really wild and moving film.

Sadly, on the day of the Austin premiere Benh, Par, Crocket and Jordan got into a bad car accident leaving our director in the hospital with a broken hip and pelvis. Spirits intact. Here are some great articles about the movie and all the madness:
